about

The 4th studio album. Originally released on Ian Boddy's Something Else Records as it was at the time (minus the additional tracks Sisterwulf and In Silent Vigil).
96/97 was a prolific year for me, seeing not only this album release, but also Dystopia (compilation of previously unreleased studio tracks on the Centaur label - also out again soon), Works 1 & 2 (live) and Valhalla (live) (all out shortly).
Riding on the back of Maelstrom was never going to be easy in terms of allowing me a lot of leeway for further variation. But being the chameleon I am, I had to keep changing. The result here was Xenomorph. The album was received really well and hasn't aged that badly either.
This remastered edition uses the same process as used in all my remastered editions. The sound is dynamically improved, with not only a wider frequency range but al also a wider stereo field which makes it more "surround friendly" on modern equipment. The improvements are very noticeable on Xenomorph because, let's face it, the original mastering process wasn't a knockout anyway. It seemed to lack punch and bottom end. So this edition makes a lot of improvements all round. You will like it! ;-)
